ABOUT US
Like
water running downhill, there was something naturally inevitable
about the success of Indian
Peaks Springwater.
Tapped
from a spring house at almost 10,000 feet in the Rocky Mountains,
our water filters down from glaciers and snowfields at the crest
of the Continental Divide to bubble from the ground at the edge
of the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area. From there we truck our springwater
to Boulder, Colorado, where it's bottled and delivered to hundreds
of thirsty customers in the metro area, a few of whom have been
toasting Indian Peaks since its beginnings in 1986. Owner
Stephen Dolson started the business with partner Bill Stone with $100
and a Chevy van. When his partner died a year later, Stephen forged
on, building the company through word of mouth and water tastings
at footraces, mountain bike events and festivals such as the People's
Fair in Denver and Boulder's CreekFest. Slowly but steadily the
word trickled out about Indian Peaks Springwater. Now we're struggling
to meet the demand for our award-winning product. Our secret is
our water--and the way it's handled. Little comes between a customer's
lips and Indian Peaks' alpine freshness. "We
try to keep it as natural as possible," says Stephen, who limits
processing to ultraviolet light and ozone treatment to eliminate
any impurities. "My job is to make sure the water tastes as great
from the bottle as it does right from the source," he adds. Health-conscious
customers swear by Indian Peaks Springwater. "It has a lot of strong
energy; it's crisp and alive," says Boulder nutritionist and acupuncture
practitioner Sanford Greenberg, one of our original customers. Distributing
some 7,000 gallons of water a month, Indian Peaks is the smallest
water bottler in the Denver-Boulder area.
"We're
small," Stephen Dolson says, "but our water is huge."
"You
need water to live and Good water to live well!" Lao-Steve
also says.
